Our Roastery

What would the new crop bring? This question is not just for wine, but especially true for coffee farmers and our coffee roaster. No year is like another: the weather, luck and the unpredictability of life. It is the right mix of experience and experimentation which decide how the new crop blend. That they always end up exactly as planned, cannot be said to be true.

I was born in Vienna and therefore grew up in the coffeehouse tradition of Central Europe. No wonder then, that the tradition of Italian coffee, espresso and the classic roast Trieste are very close to my heart and my ideals; such as how green coffee should be treated. In the new generation I find inspiring above all American coffee roaster. We owe to them the new consciousness that we must actively strive for quality - by finding special coffee farmers and, by cooperating with them, motivate them to continue to grow singular coffees.

Thus we have found our place - somewhere between old Europe and the New World. The basis of our belief is that the roasting of coffee is a classic craftsmanship with equal ethos. It demands patience, the right machinery and a measured judgment that comes with years of expertise - to bring order and to that raw material with which we have to do every day: coffee.
